Jon earned a silver medal in high bar and a bronze medal for the team final at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.

Kayleigh - November 1, 2008 - Columbus, OH Tour of Gymnastics Superstars show
I got the tickets to the show for my birthday. And really, I was just expecting to see the show and go home. But there were these two ladies at my gym who went to the Columbus show and they actually lied their way backstage, haha. But anyhow, they brought back the passes and gave them to us... and we were crossing our fingers and hoping like crazy that they would work!
We got to the Q and it was CRAZY. The whole show was just phenomenal, and the guys really stole the show. The ending, especially, where they all dressed up like the Jonas Brothers was just hysterical. After the show was done and over, me and my mom went and looked for other backstage people. We showed the passes to the security guard... and he hands us a wristband! Yesssss! Off we go with probably 30 other girls, stuffed into an elevator capable of holding maybe 15 people max, squealing my head off because I'm so excited. We got down to this little room, and I took a peek inside the doors as I passed. They were all sitting in a line behind a bunch of tables. The line moved relatively fast, and before I know it, I'm standing in front of KSM, Shawn, and Nastia. Holy shnikes. I almost died. And then, we moved down the line to the guys. Jon was first. He was sitting next to Kevin Tan, and they were both joking around and kidding about these two little girls that were in the show (they were sitting down the table signing autographs... I think they were 5 and 7. XD) But everyone was awesome. I told Jon "Thank you so much!" and he said "Thanks for coming to the show!" and smiled... I almost passed out. Haha.
